Sacred Heart University Early Decision for Fall 2022 Admission

Decision in snail mail today…accepted with $20,000 which includes honors program. Daughter’s number 1; she is so excited!

My DD applied EA. Are decisions rolling or all come out at once?

Good question. Does anyone know when decisions come out for EA. Site says “rolling” but when is that?

According to last year’s thread EA notifications were via snail mail end of January

Congrats! Where are you located?

New Jersey!

Did SHU post that the acceptances went out? I thought I read that they post when they are notifying that they are sending them out.

I didn’t see anything posted but my daughter received her letter today. We are in MA. Accepted for nursing. Good luck everyone!

Did she get good merit?

Hi,
She received $16K in merit.
This is still by far her most expensive option, and the smallest school she is even considering.
We know several young women who successfully completed the Nursing program in 2021- I believe the first graduating class. They RAVE about it. Close to home, just a ferry ride away for us. Beautiful campus, top-notch EVERYTHING.
So, is it worth the extra ~$50K over four years? The additional room and board pricing (as compared to other schools) accounts for ~$20K of that. Is the food and room that much better and nicer?
We noticed the Nursing students have the opportunity to train at some of the best hospitals, such as the Yale-New Haven Hospital system. Of course that’s a plus!
So, SHU is a solid contender!

I didn’t think that their program was new. In fact, I believe the CEO of the biggest health system in my area is a SHU nursing grads many years ago.

That’s so good to hear! I may have misunderstood… I thought I gathered that the program is fairly new to SHU, and that SHU somehow absorbed the program from another institution? Maybe someone here has more insight!

Not sure how old the program is exactly but I have a niece who got her BSN there at least 9 years ago.
