I’d recommend “Write Your Way In” by Rachel Toor. I heard the recommendation from several on this site, and it’s great!

I recommend “On Writing The College Application Essay The Key to Acceptance at the College of Your Choice” by Harry Bauld and “Conquering the College Admissions Essay in 10 Steps”, by Alan Gelb; these two books were very useful to my son two years ago.

I recommend Hack the College Essay - just search that, it is a free pdf online. Short, good read, excellent suggestions and clear examples.

In another post you say you are a 9th grader. It is way to early to think about college essays. Over the next couple of years hopefully your writing style will evolve, you will have new experiences, your thinking will mature etc.

In my opinion Hack the College Essay is all you need. College essays are a unique style and different from regular essay writing. PM me if you can’t find that pdf.
