News article re admissions

Continuing the discussion from Cal Poly Class of 2026 Freshman Waitlist Discussion:

Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo receives more and more applications nearly every year, but it has hit its capacity limit.

Therefore, it has very limited space available for hopeful students wishing to earn a degree at the California State University campus.

Search The Tribune’s database to see how many people applied to each major and college at Cal Poly, and how many spaces spots were available.

The above is a cut and paste from the San Luis Obispo Tribune. The paywall didn’t let me share the link but in the article is data base with the numbers. I will keep trying to figure out how to share but……

I hope it’s okay to paste the data from the article here? Note that it only shows # applicant spaces, so it doesn’t use the yield multiplier, which probably varies by major, but CC experts tell us to use 3x. For example, the 80 spaces for Aerospace Engineering with a 3x multiplier means SLO might admit, or offer spots to, 240 applicants, for a 12.7% admit rate for Aero Eng First Time Freshman.
