Sometimes someone brings up an issue on the site and I spend a couple of minutes trying to figure out what happened. It can be hard to work out what people mean by phrases such as “the thread that was closed”, “there was an error” or “a moderator told me”. While they mean something specific to you, it takes some detective work on the part of everyone else because there’s just so much going on around the forums.

That way people can get the context they need to understand the situation.
