I just wanted to give a little bit of a heads up for those on here who have or will have received an offer for spring admit —things that current spring admits might have wanted to know before accepting the offer.
Housing is very limited due to a lack of planning on the U’s part for the result of new construction of Centennial Village. The current spring admits were placed in various types of housing (converted study rooms, hotels near and far from campus, placed with upperclassmen in open beds) and as spring admits are the last to be able to choose housing for next year (unless they found an ED friend to room with next year - priority is placed on when you put your deposit in) which has left many with no choice but to find off-campus spots or be put on a waiting list that will go into summer.
It’s an unfortunate situation and I would want to know if it were my S/D considering accepting a spring admit offer.
