I’m surprised that there’s not a thread for this. Who’s ready for the RD admissions process for Brown?

Brown is a very good school and I want to apply to both Brown and Yale!

gosh I really want to go to Brown but my gpa is way too low… hope the college would acknowledge my ECs
i m still working on supplementary essays. I dont know why but Brown’s essays came to me tougher than those of other colleges

I was deferred from ED, so I’m hoping for an acceptance in the RD round! My main worry is that I’m too average for a place like Brown, but I’m trying to stay positive.

@LiaMD24: You’ve posted prior threads about what schools you’re targeting and have been told that your SATs (for an international applicant) make you completely non-viable. Have you gone and begun to create a less selective list of colleges? Your chances at Brown and Yale are nil, IMHO

@T26E4 Alright, way to be encouraging! /sarcasm There’s a better way to say things, you know.

I too was deferred ED, and I don’t have high hopes for acceptance in April, but there’s no way I can predict anything. So we’ll just have to wait and see.

I really want to get into Brown but the essays aren’t coming to me very easily. Especially the Why Brown one.

@condendsed711 I was not trying to be sarcastic. Not at all. I’m 100% serious that liamd24 needs to create a less selective college list if he/she expects any admits. International admit with 1630 SAT score. Applied early to both Harvard and Columbia. Rejected at Harvard. Would you suggest something different?

Seriously. I’m not trying to be mean but that person is completely mistaken about what being a viable applicant entails to these sorts of colleges. You’d tell him/her to hold out hope?

@T26E4 One does not simply apply to BOTH Columbia and Harvard Early (unless they are blatantly violating the ED and SCEA agreements).

Very true. Besides perhaps not crafting a very realistic target college list, lia didn’t do a good job reading about what s SCEA and ED meant, too. Look up the posting history and you’ll see for yourself. I’m not exaggerating

Pretty excited for RD. Brown is kind of a reach for me, but I really like it. What do you guys think. 31 ACT SATII: mathI 730 BioE 730. #2 in class. Above 100 gpa (weighted). A bunch of ECs and leadership roles in about all of them.

Did anyone who submitted their application but not the supplement yet get a log in information? I got one for cornell so I was surprised Brown hasn’t sent me one yet.

Hi guys! It’s so nice to talk to you all I applied RD to Brown myself- anyone find the word limit on those essays too restrictive? Applied ED II to Vassar as well, really hoping that pulls through though

hey guys,
do I have a chance?
SAT: 2000
IB: 42/45 predicted and actual
Subject SAT: M2: 760 PHY:730 CHEM: 760
EC’s: Tennis Varsity, MUN (Special Mention) , Guitar, Student Council, Courses in Java and C++
Intended Major: Computer Science
I think its a reach
recs are pretty good I believe as I topped physics in junior year and got honored and have represented school in math quiz competitions and shiz
P.S essays suck balls as they are lengthy

Coming from someone accepted ED with shabby grades, do not let your scores and grades stop you from applying to Brown. Show yourself as genuinely as possible in your application and prove to Brown that you’re not just a statistic.

I got deferred as well at least it wasn’t straight-up rejection.

Hey guys!! New to the thread and just submitted my application… @12345n and @kohwalsh, i found the Brown essays and the word limit to be a challenge… definitely the hardest out of all the apps I did. Has anyone already been accepted tk a college EA?

@tkdgirl98 haha I’m so with you but at least it’s done I was accepted to my safety Fordham on scholarship you?

Noob here, and just submitted my app… @tkdgirl98, I agree - the word limits were very annoying, and I’m worried that in annoyance I wrote scrambled garbage haha

Does anyone know if being a Rhode Island resident is a hook? A few students that i know which go there told me it is, and on college board it says “in state residence is considered.”
