.02 GPA difference. Is it worth it?

I am looking to you guys for advice. Would you guys take an extra 3 unit course to to raise the maximum possible UC transferable gpa from a 3.51 to a 3.53? Normally I would take it without question but this semester I am already taking 9 units for credit, 2 of them will be honors, plus 5 units for an audited (meaning those units would count towards anything) math course, I will also be doing Supplemental Instruction for a chemistry course which requires me to sit in during lecture and then dedicate an hour to helping the students with whatever they are having trouble with. I will also be working as a chemistry tutor.

Do you guys think adding a 3 unit class to my schedule in order to raise that max possible gpa from 3.51 to 3.53 is worth it?

Cons
-The risks are that the rest of my classes could suffer bringing down my gpa all together.
-Finals time may be hectic since I will have an additional final to worry about plus helping out other kids for their chemistry finals.

Pros
-My gpa could be slightly higher (.02)...I know it may sound stupid but, thats why I am asking.
-Signing up for the extra 3 units would qualify me for the BOG waiver which waives all of my unit fees ($442 value). Without the 3 units I fall short of qualifying.

I’d personally do it to save the $400+ in fees.

Admissions won’t even see your GPA from this semester so it doesn’t matter at all.
You also start over with a fresh gpa when you transfer over if you didn’t know…

It also probably wouldn’t matter in the long run with grad schools because they’ll be more concerned with the upper div courses you took and gpa (of those courses) at the school you transfer to.

edit: that part about admissions … I assumed that you applied this past November.
If you didn’t, just add on a music class or something…
and 442$ saved is a good thing.

actually I am applying this upcoming fall. I guess I could save that 3 unit class for that last fall before I transfer and I would still raise the maximum gpa. This 3 unit class is a pre req for my major so I cant really just take a music class or anything like that but that would be cool. I just thought it be nice to have 2/3 of the pre reqs done before applying rather than taking one in the fall and another the spring after applications.

Definitely get as many pre-reqs for your major done.

No. I don’t think its worth it. When you lose control your risk go high.

if u can handle it, go for it, if you uruncertain or know itll be too hard then dont do it.

there’s no big difference in .02 GPA when ur in that range. if u were in the 3.88 range and wanted a 3.9, then i would have suggested that u take the class
