My D is a junior and Iam just researching universities. She
is applying to the summer catapult program.</p>

<p>sr10, Rose looks at the grades and what courses the students has taken/is taking first. They would rather see a student take AP or other advanced classes and get a B then take the easy route and get straight As. They also look at what classes the school offers, so if they don't offer many advanced classes they won't hold that against the student. After that, they look at test scores, extra curriculars, etc. All of the admissions counselors look at each application together and spend a lot of time looking at all the details. No one thing will guarantee that you'll get in, but if you have something that might hurt you, like a low grade in one class, I'd suggest sending them an explanation.</p>
