1.5 GPA to 4.0

From high school I attended Cal Poly Pomona where I had received an extremely low GPA of 1.5 (attained two Fs and one D).
This grade point average was a bit of a wake up call for me and I decided to settle down and focus on my academia. (Many reasons why my GPA was so low, but that deserves a post on its own.) I left Cal Poly Pomona, and went to my local CC, where I have maintained a strong GPA of 4.0 with 35 units. (+16 this semester). I am aware of academic renewal. But should I still be worried about the UCs? (Specifically UCLA and UCB)

I am also aware that USC and Boston University do not accept academic renewal. USC is my dream school. However, I do know that this will significantly tarnish my chances of getting in. sigh Would love to get a second opinion on the best course of action. Thank you!

For the UC’s, what will matter is your UC transfer GPA? How long ago did you attend CPP? Turning around your academics will help your chances but how recent are the CPP grades?

I went to CPP fall of 2019. My transfer GPA is a 4.0. I did not think of it that way! Many people have told me that it could actually help my application? Thank you so much for your response!
