1 Bad Grade for Second Semester of Senior Year

The end of the 2nd quarter is next Friday, 2/2/17. I’m worried about my chances for the rest of my regular decision colleges.

My current course load and grades:

  1. AP Physics 1 - A (but there’s a chance this will go down to an A-)
  2. AP Lit - B (but it’s a high B, so my teacher might round up to a B+)
  3. AP Gov’t - B (if I do well on my next test, it might go up to a B+)
  4. Geospatial Analysis - A
  5. Advanced Orchestra - A
  6. AP Calculus AB - a high D+ (!!!)

As you can see, I’m incredibly worried about my calc grade. Math has evidently never been my strong suit, for I’ve finished each year of high school with a B-. I’ve done everything I can to raise my grade, but (I know I shouldn’t blame anyone but myself) my teacher falls behind on grading a lot, so I’ve not actually sure if that is my real grade because 3 quiz/test grades and a homework grade has not been entered in to the grade book. What should I do? Should I talk to my counselor and figure out if I need to contact colleges and explain my horrible grade? I’m at a loss here. My mom thinks I will be straight up declined from colleges and I am scared that will happen. Can one bad grade in the midyear reports have that much of a weight? Any feedback would help. Thanks!

Also:

  • all my grades in high school have been A/Bs
  • (new) SAT score: 1290
  • ACT score: 30
  • I’m incredibly well-rounded on my application
  • Intended major: Psychology
  • I’ve already been accepted to Saint Mary’s College of ND, Indiana
  • I’m applying to the University of Notre Dame, George Mason, James Madison, Virginia Tech, UVA, among others

I’d like to know too, had a D in math in my senior year… I’m an international (french) student.
I’m attending NYU (dream), BU, all UC campuses (except SF), Drexel, UMass Amherst, Pace University, Charleston College. My SAT score is 1250, and my intended major is computer science
