I'm panicking because I have a solid C in AP English Literature and I'm doing worse on each assignment as the year goes on. I have the hardest teacher, who only gives one A per class each year, but most of the people with the same teacher have low B's because 1) she lets every class except mine rewrite essays they've done poorly on and 2) she lets people redo homework assignments sometimes, but not any of the ones I've done badly on. I know if I were a genius at analyzing literature I would be getting a good grade regardless of the teacher, but I'm not, and when I try what she says I just get a lower grade than before. And she won't let me rewrite anything because she says I'm trying to "jack up" my grade, even though that's obviously what everyone else is doing too.

I'm applying as an English major to top colleges. I have the high SAT score and high GPA (all A's except for a couple of science courses) and everything else I'm supposed to have, and I'm doing fine in every other subject, but I feel like because of this one class I won't even get scholarships to my "match" schools, which I really need. Can someone help me?
