Has anyone gotten an SAT score that was significantly higher than his or her score projection based off of the PSAT results?

First time taking it.

I’m going for a:
800 Math (less careless answers)
800 Writing (Need to practice a little more for this)
670 Critical Reading (NEED TO improve on this A LOT) :(

For what it’s worth, my PSAT was much lower than my first SAT attempt.

PSAT- M 47 CR 56 W 54

SAT- M 590 CR 600 W 650

Took my SAT I cold last time and felt like I made a plethora of careless mistakes after reviewing my Jan QAS. Fingers crossed for 650+ on all areas this time…after DH and math practice I don’t see why I can’t make that mark. 2000 Cumulative would just be icing on the cake : D

I find that many of the errors I make on the Math SAT are just careless on my part. From reviewing a practice test, I saw that I would have gone from 710M to 800M had those errors been eliminated :)

sh1t. I don’t feel prepared at all.

Though it looks like I have no major tests this week, so I can buckle down this week.

My SAT was 400 points higher than my PSAT.

How does everyone here deal with the stress of just studying for the SAT?

Last time:

CR: 800
M: 690
W: 800

This time I finna get an 800 in math!!

Owen, I for some reason don’t mind it. Somewhere I heard “Look at the SAT as an opportunity to prove what you can do, not as an obstacle or hurdle to be overcome”. Maybe it’s a bit of a twisting of the truth, but I still like it. Also, I like imagining the huge payoff from all my work with BB. I’m only a sophomore, so a fantastic, near-perfect score makes my junior and senior years a comparative cakewalk. Again, this is a huge stretch of the truth because of all the AP’s I’ll be taking, but still, it’s a nice thought. Such a score additionally brings me a giant step closer to acceptance into just about any school I’d like.

And a 2400 does a lot for one’s ego ;)

I’m taking the SAT for the first time ever. Super nervous!

Do you guys know what’s considered a good score for an international student?

Good luck everyone!! :]

I can’t answer that, but what I can give you is a link to a College Board page outlining what percentile you’re in if you get a particular score on one section (based on 2009 results for college-bound seniors). If you get a 740 on CR, you’re not in the top 25% of Harvard students ([SAT Scores - Are My SAT Scores Good Enough?](What's a Good SAT Score for College Admissions in 2020?)) but you’re still at the 98th percentile according to College Board.

5 more DAYS!! RAWR!!

are we all pumped?

All i want to do for this sat is break 2000…what is annoying is that I mess up on the math due to poor careless mistakes, anyone have this problem?

This is the my usual scores- my practice tests:
M-680-730
R-580-620
W- 620-670

I really need my best scores that i got on the practices to achieve this, then I can practice for 2100+ for the next sat.

Anyone improve from 700-800 on math because they learned how to avoid silly mistakes? I am trying everything, but i get too nervous…

I make silly mistakes all the time! Luckily I have like 6-8 minutes left on every math section to check so I correct them. So I guess my tip is make sure you leave time to review your work…

Good luck :]

anyone…how can I get 10 or higher on the essay for sure? What can I do to guarantee at least a 10, and shot for higher?

Also, what is some last minute advice for CR? What can I do to help me out on test day? (are there certain passage types that I can predict?)

And how do you think the curve will be for this test? (considering the last SAT had such harsh curves)

And if anyone has taken the Princeton Review prep course and taken the SAT…can anyone PM me their final diagnostic test score and their actual SAT score after they took the course? I am really confused and would like soem data to figure out what’s up with my score. Thanks

My hope for the test is: a good curve, and an awesome performance on my part.

I’ll be taking the Subject Tests in Math Level 2, Chemistry, and Literature.

!!! :(

I’m getting more and more nervous every day! I’m just hoping, hoping, hoping that somehow my careless math mistakes will all go away. HA. Good luck everybody!
