10/17 PSATs

For wikipedia, I put overly alarmist.

Why would it be objective? Explain your reasoning please.

For math, I just remember putting down 171 as the answer for the question about how many numbers have a 0 greater than 99 and less than 1000. And 14 was the answer to the last problem on how far the guy walked (the last grid-in question).

writing section was pretty hard too

climate question … japan’s climate was similar to THAT OF the northeastern coast of usa?
memoirs … was > were ?

yep. Japan’s climate was similar to THAT OF the northeastern…

I’m pretty sure the memoirs question was were because memoirs is plural. So you can’t use was.

I put objective but I think I was wrong b/c none were objective. As for overly alarmist , hmmm.I don’t know… I couldn’t decide…
I didn’t get 171 but I did get 14. Did anyone get 166 for any thing on the math?

Wait, who wrote the memoirs?

i put oracular down for that hee hee… ughh i hate myself

yep 171 and 14

only one tricky math question was
the pie chart… the question was the amount of people who chose answers OTHER THAN keeping old job.

ya 166 was the most amount of tokens for 1000 points.

memoirs is counted as plural tho

It has to be 171. There are 19 numbers in each hundred (100,101,102,103,104,105,106,107,108,109,110,120,130,140,150,160,170,180, and 190). Nine hundreds so 19*9=171.

Yes!!!
The pie chart was 270 I think.

why umm? Oracular was correct. I hate myself. 800 cr last year and this yearI can’t even discern the meaning of simple voc words.
Tally of wrong voc questions so far
1-oracular 2-playful 3- overly alarmist?

U got a 22 for the math numbers with the square and the little squares.

Oh, and 2.5$ for 60 pounds- anyone get that one:?

I got 290 for the pie chart i believe. 42% said stay in same job. So, (100-42=58) .58*500=290 people.

wow. so oracular is correct? hahaha
aniways, section one first short passage

‘invent his grammar on the fly’

i chose improvise english freely

Yep, I picked improve English freely too.

overly alarmist wasn’t a vocab question. It was a question on the passage about wikipedia.

but seriously, for the tone question
the second passage was obviously defiant
and for the first, wasn’t that last sentence defiant?
something snoot/snob (forgot the word) and dysphemisn

I choose improvise English as well.

He was being playful. He made up the word “snoot” for the first passage. IMO, that was playful.

What was the answer to the last question of section 1 ?

Yes, I got 22 and $2.50 in the math section.

What was the last question in section 1 about?

I may have put 290- I no longer remember. I put that he would have a coalition of African people and consevations working together.
