it should be I not “me”

its subjective case so “me” is the same as “myself”

you have to say “I”

it should be I not “me”

you have to say “I”

Some reasons it’s playful:

-The author of the second passage pokes fun at him/herself instead of repudiating statements made by others. Also, the particular use of hyperbole in the passage helps to reaffirm the tone of the passage.

-The made up words in the first passage denote humor, not indignation.

The best reason, however, is that all of the other ones didn’t quite fit the mold.

I’m looking at these posts and im starting to feel less confident about how i did.
what would a score of 5 or 6 wrong on CR, 4 wrong on math and 2 wrong on writing be?

^^refer to the practice psat packet. math would be like a 700 i believe

edit: student explained it well

did you guys get $2.5 or $3 for the canned corn question ?

I got $3, but i think thats wrong. How would you get 2.5?

I glanced through quickly and didn’t hear anyone mention this one yet:

There was something about a song being really depressing or somber (or something similar), and the answer was “dirge,” a funeral song. Took a gamble on that one but it ended up being right.

It’s $2.50 but I forgot the numbers that were given in the table so I wouldn’t be able to explain it :(. Do you guys think -1 will still be an 80 in CR and W?

what do you guys think would be

-5 wrong on CR
-1 on W
-1 on M
?? T_T

what would -6 CR, -1 M, -3 W be as a score? enough for national merit in ohio?

@ Playful vs. Defiant on the Grammar nazi question…

“Snoot” isn’t a very serious word, ergo I chose playful. Or did I? ;_;

As a person who has been on the Internet for a long time, it was difficult to determine whether or not these people were ■■■■■■■■ or meant serious business.

culturally biased question? :)

edit:

what? y/z = 1/6? What was the question again? Uh oh >_>

x/y = 3/4
x/z = 1/8
y/z = ?

I’m sure there’s an easier way to do this, but I did:

(x/y) / (x/z) = (x/y) * (z/x)
so the x’s cancel out
= y/z

plug in the numbers
(3/4) / (1/8) = (3/4) * 8
= 6

then take the reciprocal of 6, which is y/z to get z/y
= 1/6

my friends told me they did a proportion, which worked out to 1/6

-1 stils 800
It did last year i kno this b/c I was the curve last year this year bleh
as for National merit in Ohio, depends did you omit any?
anyway NM qualifications in Ohio are pretty low
I have to leave b/c this thread is making me lose my mind
-3 CR possible -8 math
Does anyone know the answer to this writing question?
If you disbelieve that corporations are catering to the whims of consumers no matter how silly/something they might be you have only to compare the aisles of a supermarket today with years ago. I picked years ago- was that right?

Someone…Tell me.

^seems like you got it right, but idr that question

For grammar nazi I put playful. She’s making fun of herself with snoot so yeah. So anxious for scores to come out!

definitely not for math… CR / W MAYBE, for the PSAT. I missed one grid in last year on Math [PSAT] and I got a 75.

PAINFUL I hope the curve is more lenient on my score this time :/

Not writing either.

The discrepancy about CR:

1) factitious is definitely wrong (i put it myself) and oracular is the correct answer.
2) it’s “climate was similar to that of” because the other option would have been just really awkward wording. try saying the second one out loud.

if you get 2 wrong in CR, that’s a 790, right?
(i always get 800s on the actual SAT…the PSAT i always get 790s. ■■■)
