Our daughter just found out about DePaul, and is very interested in it. When I added it to her Common App list, I discovered that the deadline for EA was midnight last night - erg!
She could submit today - should she check early action, on the off chance they are willing to accept it still, or RD? It would be great to find out sooner!

She is panicing a little as she is hearing about the big increase in EA apps this year, nad are thinking that her "safety" schools might not come through.

If the app is 100% ready-to-go, i.e., the essay is as good as it is gonna get, I would submit EA immediately. At worst, DePaul will defer it to the RD pool, but IMO that is highly unlikely.

Personal view is that it won’t matter. If you put early action and it is late they will just consider it as regular admission. Nevertheless, DePaul is a rolling admissions school. Early action merely guarantees you will be notified no later than mid-Jan, regular means they could actually wait until March. Either way, if you applied and got everything in today (or yesterday under early action) you are likely to have a decision by sometime in December.
