10 hours of class in 1 day!

I have the most messed up schedule this semester and I can't do anything about it... I'm an art student and studio classes last 2 hours and 45 minutes each (regular classes last 1hr 15 min). I'm in 4 studio classes this semester. I can't opt out, I need them to graduate.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays I go to class at 8am for 2hr 45min, then I have a break until 2pm, which is when I have 3 consecutive classes in a row without a break -- yes, 7 hours and 15 minutes of non-stop class. The entire day totals at 10 hours of class!! This will be every T/Th of the semester.

I'm currently sitting in my 3rd class of the day and I'm about to go insane. I still have one more studio class after this! My head hurts, my back hurt, and I'm mentally exhausted.

I need some advice. Dropping classes isn't an option... and they don't offer them at different times.

Maybe I could find a place to sleep during my break from 10:45 to 2...? Is there some form of natural energy booster -- other than coffee?? I need to keep my energy and concentration up if I'm going to power through this 10-hour day... Has anyone had a similar schedule? Thanks!

Exercising is a good way to get an energy boost.

Agree with Drew.
You should hit the gym, 11am-noon.
Eat your packed lunch, complex carbs and protein, drink plenty of water.
Then study until 2pm.
You are not feeling well because you probably didn’t sleep well, didn’t eat a proper breakfast or lunch, dehydrated and are too caffeinated.

Better your health! Everyone should because it will make you feel better both mentally and physically. Spend time doing what you feel would benefit you most during the downtime.

I was in class from 11AM to 10 at night this summer (mid May - early August) for classes on t/th, and I was able to stay awake by lifting weights for an hour before class started. It sucked in the afternoon, but I usually ate well enough to get through the evening class.

Pack your own lunch, and if you need to take a nap… I used my hour of downtime between classes to nap sometimes and it was a godsend.

Completely agree, a little bit of exercise and eating spectacularly well on these days is the key here.

I have about 10 hours of class on Tuesday, but with decent amount of breaks periodically. My first class starts at 8 to 9, then at 1-4pm, then from 4:30-5:15, and lastly, 6-9pm. But then get wed and fridays off. I only have one class on monday and a little less of tues for thurs. I like it because it gives me something to do all day and i have plenty of time to do my assignments.

Just hope you don’t have 3 exams on one day…ouch.
