I am going to be a freshman this fall at SDSU and when I made my schedule, each day I am there, there is only 10 minutes between each of my classes. Some are farther across campus than others, but is 10 minutes generally enough fro this campus?
@nthnfun91 - You should be fine, as long as your class ends on time, and you focus on getting to the next class without stopping anywhere. We’ve all had to do this (I’m a grad/my kid is a current Aztec), you’ll just need to walk briskly between the classes, especially if two classrooms are clear across campus from one another. The tough one is if you have only ten minutes to get to Peterson Gym… What you might want to do is take a few practice runs between the classes before school starts, so you can time yourself. You might find it isn’t that big of a problem. The first few days of school, if you get lost, there are usually booths on campus with people who will guide you to where you need to be.
The big problem will be if you have professors who dismiss the class late, and you may find that you really only have 5 minutes between classes. You won’t know about this until you attend each class, and see how the professors handle dismissal time.
Another problem: You won’t have time to talk to professors after class, so you’ll need to save any questions you have for office hours. Lots of students stay after class if they have a few questions.
Advice: If you find that you are having difficulty making it on time to a particular class, reach out to the professor ASAP and explain the situation. Most are willing to work with students, but you need explain the situation to make sure they understand that you have very little time between your classes. If you don’t talk to them, they’ll think you aren’t taking their class seriously.
