My high school runs on a 7 point scale but how will that compare to a high school that runs on a 10 point scale? Do college's balance it out? Also, are there a list of colleges that balance it and do not balance it and use the scores that they see on your transcript for the admissions process?

er

never heard of a 10 point scale or a 7 point scale.

to be honest i’m not sure myself (I can’t even finish my common app because my school’s weighting is too confusing), but all I can offer is the reassurance that colleges DO understand crazy HS weighting and you’ll get the recognition you deserve.

My old school had a grading scale of 94 to 100 as an A, etc. And then GPA wise, we’d get a 5 for an A, 4 for a B, etc. Didn’t matter if it was an advanced class or not. I think it put us at a disadvantage because our counselors said that colleges would view our GPAs on a ten point scale so someone with a 5.0 would be viewed as a 4.0. Since nothing at our school was weighted, we were pretty much stuck with that as the highest possible GPA. don’t know if that helped.
