oh yes we all should be in awe of cornell and do what good students we are do, read that book. come on, it seems many here including myself have read it already andwant to know why we have to read it. one page essay isn't a big deal, but if it was graded thats a stresser for all of us type a people. there is no need for criticism.

I read that in like 8th grade.

hmm i dont think it will be graded... i dont even think its a big deal
i think itll be like busy work

Yeah, I guess no summer reading for me, seeing how I've already read it, like the rest of the western hemisphere!

I think they had to read "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe (sp?)

I thought "Things Fall Apart" was pretty good too.

yeah, i liked things fall apart.

yea i liked it but u dont remember much of it...

Cornell will live on, continuing to hope that it stops drawing students who feel prompted to even ask such questions.

Who knows, maybe one year Cornell will get lucky and have a whole class of self-righteous pricks like you.

LOL. I think the summer reading is an interesting idea, though I would totally be against it if they graded us on it.

Doesn't Columbia do something similar but with the Illiad or something?

things fall apart was a wonderful book.

Columbia has not one, but fifty required readings. That's what the admission lady from there said when she visited my school.

check out theu.com columbia video they talk about the Iliad requirement

That's part of the Columbia Core right? It's not like you have to read The Iliad over the summer lol

Self righteous for hoping for classmates who will challenge me? Don't be embarrased that I called you out for being lazy.

Yeah I really liked Things Fall Apart too.
