10 things to do in SF in a day

<p>Ghirardelli Square! = delicious
Pier 39 - plenty of stuff to do
Metreon - expensive, but pretty cool
Chinatown - really good/cheap food
Westfield Mall - lots of shops
Boudin - get the bread bowl + clam chowder or soup and half sandwich
Exploratorium - if you haven't been there
Golden Gate Park / Golden Gate Bridge
Twin Peaks - Great view of SF
Alcatraz - is alright</p>

<p>Barneys-GREAT hamburgers...fun things to do in SF: Drive down Lombard Street, walk the Golden Gate Bridge, take the Ferry to Oakland--it travels right under the Bay Bridge-BEAUTIFUL vistas of SF skyline, Shopping in Union Square-Tiffany's, Neiman Marcus, Macy's, Apple computer store!, cable car trip from Powell Street to Fistherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Japantown, Beach Blanket Babylon-FUNNY-satire-musical in Northbeach, Visit end of May and participate in the Bay to Breakers walk, Golden Gate Park, DeYoung Museum, SF Museum of Modern Art...just a few of my favorite things in SF...</p>

<p>also, would it be wise to visit berkeley and stanford (are the distances ok?) or is it better to visit surrounding areas?</p>

<p>You can easily visit Stanford and Berkeley while you're in SF. You can take the BART to Berkeley. I wouldn't suggest them both for one day as you asked on another thread.</p>

<p>Re: vegetarian burritos
I like Gordo's on Clement and I think 24th is the cross street in the Richmond district</p>

<p>La Parilla Grill or Nick's Crispy Tacos in Nob Hill, both are on Polk St., somewhere between Clay and Broadway.</p>

<p>And of course the Mission District has a lot of good Mexican places.</p>

<p>If you like to shop, there are a bunch of cute boutiques in Nob Hill and Pacific Heights, I'd suggest Fillmore or Union St.</p>

<p>if you go to the city, the best place to get pizza is Georgio's! It will amaze you!</p>
