100 Point Discrepancy Rule of Thumb

There is a 120 point difference between my Math score (800) and my Critical Reading score (680). One time, somebody told me that schools look down upon students who have a 100+ point difference between their scores. Is this idea true? Does anybody have any personal experience with this kind of score analysis/interpretation? If I took the test again, got 700+ on Critical but slipped in Math, will schools look down on that?

Whoever told you that has no idea what the hell their talking about. It obviously means that you’re not the most adept at that section. Depending on what you got in writing and if you’re not looking at the Ivy’s, I wouldn’t retake.
