Hey guys, I just got my SAT score back and whoa what an UNPLEASANT surprise. I thought I had aced the math section and it turns out that I went down a 110 points on the whole test ( I got a 1300 and my highest score was a 1410 - 710 m).

Did I Just majorly screw myself over.

I loveeeeeeeeee Columbia, I am applying ED SEAS. I'm a female from NJ, in a magnet school, and a worldwide touring dancer if that helps.

how badly did you drop in the math section? but anyway you put it, a 110 point decrease can never be good, unless you have a really good excuse (sick, tragedy, etc)

Colleges will usually take your highest score, or even combine your highest individual scores. While a drop like this is discouraging, I don't think it will be a huge deal in the evaluation of your entire application. Depending on how the results are keyed into the final data reviewed by the adcom, it may not even be obvious that a drop occurred. Good luck!
