What is considered a 4.0? I have around a 93.6 average and what is that approximately on a 4.0 scale?
you can’t convert it like that. You need to look at your transcript find out how many A’s you have (each semester) and multiply that by 4. Then look for B’s and multiply by 3. Then C’s-2. (Idk about D’s since many schools don;t have D’s anymore, but Im sure you wouldnt have any D’s or F’s anyway with your gpa). Then divide the final number by total classes (again, by semester). That’s your gpa on a 4 point scale
what is considered an A?
90+
thx
Some scales call 90 an A at 4.0. Some call 90-92 an A- at 3.7…
^^ That usually applies to colleges. If i am not mistaken, most high schools just consider 90+ a 4.0
that is what is on college board.com
Well if that is the case, you would probably have to talk to a counselor at your high school about it and figure out what they use. Try calculating it both ways- the final gpa shouldn’t be too different.
It is probaby 4.0 or very very close. The colleges will recalc their own way, so dont worry about it.
Usually A-'s count against having a 4.0. You need to ask your high school what their numerical to letter grade conversion is. It isn’t standardized.
my school doesn’t have a letter system. it was completely abolished a few years ago.
@2016senior, my S’s school did the same. They don’t have the concept of A or 4.0, and they don’t rank. if you want to judge your GPA versus average for your school picks, Id do it each way, and keep both in mind when judging, You will be at 4 or really close.
I’ve found it is impossible to get a definitive answer on this;)
^thx. My school has rank but I’m the second to last class that will have it because its getting abolished too.
