100kb/sec, is that the max you get from your connection

<p>is this the most you get from your connection, i heard people say you get fast internet here, but this is the same as any regular dsl, did you guys set it up differently</p>

<p>i don’t understand the previous threads that say people had like gbs of stuff they got when they could just get it from home, i mean, seriously you guys don’t get 100kb/s from home?</p>

<p>its just that my expectation would be the speed would be faster since i read in past forums that people brought hard drives?</p>

<p>It depends what website you’re visiting. You may have a fast connection, but the website only allows so much download speed. Rapidshare, megaload or any of those free download sites is a good example.</p>

<p>rapidshare is always around 100kb while megaupload can go up to 400kb and no delay between downloads</p>

<p>The speed is so fast here all dl’s are limited to their server side. I downloaded a 300 mb file in about 10 secs on a good server (30mb/s)</p>

<p>Well. If your roommates are on the mini-hub as well, they’re splitting some of the connection too.</p>

<p>Even when nobody else is using it the speed is around 7 Mb/s. Right now I’m in the middle of a 10 GB download and I’m getting around 780KB/s</p>
