10th Grade | Course Selection - College aspirant for 2021 for CS

Hi,

I am a 9th Grade student in California. I need some help to select my 10th grade courses. I aspire to join CS or other related engineering fields in 2021.

I am taking following courses in 9th Grade -

Algebra 2 Trig
Spanish 2
Java Programing
Biology

For 10th Grade I plan to take -

Pre-Calculus or PreCalculus Honors
AP Physics
Spanish 3
AP Comp Sci

Should I take Physics, AP Physics or Chemistry? Are these correct courses for CS or related engineering courses in college?Currently I have 2 B, am I stretching myself thin for next year?

Thank you in advance.

Varvig

Generally Chemistry is next in the science curriculum. See what your HS typically does. I would suggest Honors Chemistry if possible. Also take an English and a Social Studies.

Beyond that, try to take AP CS principles if available as an elective.

You need English and social studies, preferably honors. Precalculus honors definitely. See with your GC in case there stretxh you too thin, in which case take English and math honors as a priority.
