I'm a sophomore and I just got my PSAT score of 214....is that good or bad? Will I be able to improve this score to be able to qualify as a semi or finalist next year? I feel bad cause i know this one person who got like a 236.

.......please. not another one of these.

these posts are getting excessive now......stop worrying sophomores!!!! geez........

Heh you did better than me.

sounds to me like you're just looking for attention. you got a 214/240 on your first go and your asking if you can improve this score by next year? nice psat score but you are severely lacking in common sense.

214 is really good. I'm kinda smart and I got like 174. You can definetely improve if you want to.

o.o Dang I feel stoop. xD I got a 150 :(. Oh well. xD Good thing I'm a junior and that I don't have to take PSAT. >/// Now I have to take SAT. W00t!

There may be some summer programs for current sophomores that may request a 200+ PSAT score. Use that to your advantage this year and let next year take care of itself...next year!

no problem kid. thats what i got and now i got 229

Good God. I took the PSAT and got a 167. I too want to be a semi of finalist next year, and your worried about raising your score up just a couple of points in a year. Cmon. Way to shatter my dreams of goin to Harvard.

My friend got a 214 her sophomore year. She got a 227 (or 226?) this year.

thats better than i did soph year.. good job. u can expect to go up a lot. i didnt think i uld since i didnt "prep" or any of that stuff, and i still went up 18 points

i got a 216 soph year. this year i got a 237.

all it requires is a change in thinking (at least for me). once i got the hang of those inference questions, my score shot up

You don't really need to worry. I got a 208 and am a national merit semi-finalist. Breathe.

I got a 2010...... I was sick, I hate the reading and writing sections =P

I got a 218 sophomore year and 215 this year. Don't get cocky.

I got a 204 as a sophomore and a 232 this year. Most of my friends saw similar jumps in scores. A 214 is gold; you'll be fine for next year.

OH don't worry at ALL! Trust me, scores can go WAY up. I myself got a 215 soph year...64 math, sooo lame. then junior year I got a 227 (math 72..still sucky but better...also my CR score went up 4 pts...) anyway as long as youre above 220 (which you definitely will be) you'll get National Merit. and anyway, PSAT sucks as a prediction of SAT. I got 800 CR but only 71 and 75 CR on PSAT. So don't worry, you should concentrate on doing well in classes.

Dont worry i got a 184 last year and 224 this time around. 40 point jump!

I had a 32 point jump with minimal studying. Good luck!!
