Do they even look at them?

Nope, they have no college consequences (in 10th grade).

Yeah, 10th grade PSATs don’t count in college admissions at all. Even 11th grade PSATs don’t count for much in admissions, but scoring high could get you a mailing from top colleges and special opportunities like summer programs, scholarships, etc.

Schools not only will not look at them, they will not have the ability to look at them. You won’t report them to your schools at all. mj rothlan is exactly right. They are entirely inconsequential in college apps.

But, they may have consequences for you in other ways. Because I scored relatively well in 10th grade I was invited to be in a really great PSAT/SAT review class sponsed by my school district. That saved me from having to sign up for an expensive review class and my PSAT went up 35 points from 10th grade to 11th.

My son got mailings from Stanford, Harvard and other colleges based solely on his 10th grade PSAT results. The PSAT results were referenced in the letters from the colleges.

Colleges can buy the results of high scoring students. However, as noted above, PSAT results have no impact upon admissions, except some mid-level colleges really put the full court press on recruiting National Merit Scholars (based on 11th grade results) and offer lots of supplemental scholarships for them.
