10th grade teacher letter of rec?

She was my AP Environmental Science teacher, and she knows me quite well, is thoughtful, and is also adviser of a club I am an officer of now. Is having a 10th grade teacher write my rec a good or bad idea?

I think it’s fine…you should pick whoever can write the best recommendation about who you are now (academically). It probably wouldn’t be a great idea if you’d had her in tenth grade and then never seen her again, but it doesn’t seem like that’s the case.

If she can give good insight about you, and you are still talking to her, then I would say it is fine.

My GC told me that 10th and 11th grade teachers are ideal since you were a completely different person when you were a Freshman and your Senior teachers don’t have enough time to really know you.
