11:02PM my time, 12:02 AM commonapp time

Im such an idiot. I got my app in 2 freakin minutes late. Theres not any chance that admissions see it as Jan 12 instead of Jan 13, is there? (since I got it in before 12 my time, which is CT). If they see Jan 13, will they see that it was just 2 min late or will they just see that it was turned in a day late?
Did I really do myself in, or will this not hurt me?

i never understood why people wait until the very last minute (or a few minutes past, which seems to be common on CC).

i didn't use Common App but they're website probably has a page with the "rules/guidelines/whatever you call it" that explains the clock system.

I don't think they'll care at all, it's not exactly a big deal, though it was extremely careless on your part. As long as they get the app, they won't care (as far as I know, they don't look at when it was submitted).

we need to PIN a thread that says: for those who submitted their app late, whether it's a min, a day, a week, CHILL THE HELL OUT!!

^yes! there have been so many threads like this!

but you should really be fine. they won't reject you over 2 minutes.

2 minutes can be excused.

thanks guys. Thats reassuring. And ya, I know it was careless, but I have a horrible habit of procrastination :(

A minute, I definitely understand, but a day? A week?

I'm sure they will understand. No worries.

Wait - so what were you doing the two minutes after the deadline. Filling out stuff or just didn't get to it?

i think its okay even 5 days late for RD in competitive colleges that have apps piled up to heaven. Like NYU.

And they'd like to prevent a flood of 100 apps of students who just missed the deadline (100 might be a stretch, but you get my point). So what if the student is the perfect applicant--they didn't get it in on time like the others.

If you're early you're on time. If you're on time you're late. And if you're late you're left behind. (This is what we were told regarding boarding the bus for away games, and I think it applies here too. I think it was also said in Remember the Titans)

lol, that's what my theatre director has said the first day every summer since I was 8.

I really, really don't think two minutes will make a difference and I'm starting to get really tired of these threads.
