CO'11
UF would be my first pick, but it's gotten really competitive and I haven't done well this year...
I would either go to FSU or UCF if I didn't get in there, but FSU would just be because it's a more recognizable name and UCF because it would be more fun but it's still not ranked high at all and I honestly don't want that.

Major probably in bio or anatomy if I can (premed)

Class of 2011!!!! My top choices are these schools: Princeton, MIT, UC Berkeley, Columbia, U Chicago, CalTech and Harvard. I really like physics/philosophy btw...

I will also apply to/look at Brown, Stanford, Yale, Cornell, and Harvey Mudd.

I guess I have a long way to go, though, and alot of stress to anticipate. I can't wait!!!!!

i laugh at this thread. i also love how most people's list are all ivy league caliber. particularly for the class of '11, you guys barely just got into high school -- hold off on this whole college process for a couple years and just think about high school. and don't such expectations too high, it's becoming insanely competitive for most of these schools and while you are all surely very smart, probably most of you wont get into Harvard or Yale or Caltech, etc. If you end up getting rejected at these schools down the road, you're gonna kick yourself for being so obsessed with them.

That's true, but I don't think there's any harm in at least taking a look at some colleges. There are still four years left and things could change, but I'm just a little bit curious about what's out there...

Well, for my list, the only one's I've really liked at are McGill and Tufts. Of course, my knowledge of other schools is next to nothing so...
I can't really narrow it down at this stage because I don't know my SAT scores, my GPA, financial stuff, blah blah blah.

Prospective major: Health & Society, something interdisciplinary that allows lots of work in sciences and humanities, or Economics (but not business or finance), likely pre-med too

In Canada (I live in the Toronto area):
U of Toronto
McGill
McMaster (Health Sci)
Western
Queens
UBC
Waterloo

US:
Georgetown
UPenn
Cornell
HYP (crapshoot!)
JHU
Columbia
Dartmouth
Brown
Williams
Amhearst

Basically all of the American schools are reaches, I don't really see the point of going to the states if I don't get into a reach because I could just go into a selective program in Canada for a fraction of the cost (I doubt I'll get too much aid) and maybe do grad school in the states?

The long answer:
Harvard
Princeton
Yale
Columbia
UChicago
Brown + RISD
Penn (Wharton) + Fine Arts at Penn
NYU
NYU Stern
NYU Tisch for Film
MIT Sloan

omg you all seriously know this already? Especially HS freshmen, your lives are going to change a lot over the next few years. Don't start making definitive college lists yet! You'll be limiting yourselves. Just decide how selective (in general) the schools you want to aim at are. Then work toward that goal, and figure everything else out in a couple years.

well im going to do the IB diploma program plus some AP classes.and my IB diploma will be bilingual if everyhting goes ok.i hope that gets me into one of these colleges:

UDLA(universisad de las americas) in mexico
university of Toronto
university of hertfordshire (england)
UNAM (mexico)
belmont university

lol, I'm an '11er and am not going to list schools that I am interested in quite just yet, as frankly, I believe that if one succeeds in their high school goals, good colleges will come ;)

Matches: the new "ivies" (i.e. Emory, Carnegie Mellon, etc)
Big Reach: any ivy (but if I can manage my course load + activities and my grades keep improving then match)
Safeties: CUNY honors, SUNY Stony Brook, determined NOT to resort to a CUNY or SUNY...; NYU?
