Hi there everyone. I'm planning on taking 11 units this summer, 3 in the beginning and 8 at the end which would come out to 3 classes. I've seen people saying that nothing more than 8 is advisable however I'm gauging that these classes aren't going to be too difficult and nothing is math or science heavy, (one is Cogsci c1 but I've taken upper divs for cogsci already, and the other two are upper divs in anthro and psychology). Would you think that this is possible then in this case? Please let me know if you have any advice. :)

There was a thread about someone wanting to take 20 units in summer… 11 is definitely doable by the way. Anyway it might be helpful:

I took Soc 113, 130, 131AC, UGBA 105 and PS3 in summer (19 units). It worked out great. I think I got the best grades I had so far in that “semester”.

you know the rule. as long as the classes are humanities, anything is possible!

Go ahead. You’ll do excellent. The nothing-more-than-8 rule is quite ignorable if you’ve been consistently doing 18 units or more during the semester.

Thanks everyone for the quick reply! And I was actually able to add the 11 units in my telebears so should I still fill out the petition? I think they only stop you once you past around 13 or something…

But thanks again everyone! I’ll see if this works out as great as I think it will. LOL.

And @Batman17… LOL.

you only need to petition if you want to exceed 16 units

i think i took like 15 units at once or 16. one class for session A and 2 classes for session C with an online internship class as well. it worked out fine. you tend to have more time to devote to these classes and so it doesn’t really matter.
