11th grade applicants?

For a student taking the PSAT in 10th grade, a 1220 is the 94th percentile-definitely a stronger score that your “only a 1220” comment would imply!

I am also a current 10th grader applying to Hill!

Thank you, however I heard 11th grade admissions are extremely more competitive. Even though I had only seen a few other peoples’ score who were applying, they were all higher than mine (half with 1400+).

Wait. Are you guys taking PSAT 10 or the regular PSAT/ NMSQT, because the PSAT 10 is significantly easier.

I think the one I took is PSAT/ NMSQT (total score 1520), and I scored 1420. Yeah the officer told me that too…Idk I am really nervous right now…

My son took PSAT/NMSQT in October.

My 10th grader in public school took the PSAT/NMSQT in October too.

I’m a 10th grader, and I too took the PSAT/NMSQT in October (1460, 99th).

score?

One thing I just realized for applicants that took PSAT. The applicant’s scores fall right into place with those of the current 10th graders, so the AO’s have perspective on how they compare to current students.

Do students at most prep schools take PSAT in 10th? (any take in 9th also?)

I got a 1430 on the psat (its pretty low so rip me), and my gpa is 3.9 overall. I have a lot of EC and my interviewer talked with me for 50+ minutes until we had to be told to stop talking haha. well, seattledreamer, you crushed my hopes in getting in lol ur scores are too high.

and for sophomore applications for junior year, i would recommend PSAT NOT SAT

@Inpakuto What school?

@sunnyschool Andover

Calling a 1430 “low” is just disingenuous; the statistical difference between a 1430 and a 1460 is minute.

Agree ^^ as I think it’s about 98th percentile.

1430 is obviously not low, it is extremely high. Consider that overwhelmingly most of the people on this forum are not in the 99th percentile. Although it is harder for us sophs, any 99th percentile score is definitely a qualifying score for us just in terms of the PSAT. Stinks that most get in earlier with lower #s on SSAT but that’s out fault.

I think 1390 or so is 99th percentile, considering that my 1400 was, although probably barely, 99th %ile.

What schools did fellow Junior applicants go for? I applied to NMH, Deerfield, St. Paul’s, and St. George’s.

I took the SSAT and got a 2330 (98th percentile). I don’t have the best GPA ever, about a 3.8 UW/4.1 W.

Praying for a miracle this March!

Sophomore applying to Hill here, too:)

Anyone heard how many applicants these schools get for 11th?
