does anyone know how competitive it is to get admission from peddie, kent, episcopal, miss porters, pomfret, and the hill?(current sophomore/ asian/ lives out of us)

In general, 11th grade is the most competitive grade for admissions, which is in part why many apply as repeat 10th graders.

It’s also not an ideal time to start a new school, especially an intensely competitive one. The college admissions process kicks off; junior year is the toughest year academically, and there’s no time cushion to recover if you don’t hit the ground running.

As @ski suggests, consider applying as a repeat 10th grader & consider the schools on this list:

I was a new 11th grader at boarding school, and it was a bit tough. 11th graders at my school make up the smallest percentage of new students because there are a lot of PGs, mostly there for sports. It can be tougher for new 11th graders to make friends because most students have already made their friends during 9th and 10th grade, and there aren’t as many new 11th graders to hang out with. 11th grade is also when the curriculum starts to get tougher for many schools. If I had been accepted a year earlier, I probably would have been a repeat 10th grader. (I was a repeat 11th grader instead.) I think new 10th graders seem to integrate well with those who have already been there for a year.
