<p>Im soooooo upset. Ive been in 0 clubs my whole high school life so far. Plus, im not interested in ANY of them. Im scared cuz i know i need a club to get into a good college but im not in any. I have just above a 3.6 gpa and ive refereed soccer, did red cross community service, did global leadership programs, and did a computer programming job at philips research, and have 60+ community service hours. Ill also be taking a college course thing over the summer and plan on doing another job at IBM. Will all this cover up for my lack of school clubs??</p>

<p>^ I would agree, but I think high school clubs have their importance. If nothing else, the always-important feeling of belonging/doing something with your peers. To generalize non-club activities as being “more important” is almost insulting, but Niquii and I don’t agree on much.</p>
<p>Haha We don’t really don’t agree on much. What I mean by “more important” is that a job with IBM is more important and I feel beneficial, if OP takes use of the their resources and networks a little, than joining a club that they’re not even interested in.</p>

<p>OP, you could always start your own club. I don’t know about your school, but lately a lot of people have been forming (successful) clubs because they felt like our school was missing out on something.</p>
<p>Well I really don’t know what kind of club to make, I can talk to my friends and see but idk… Well I think there’s something towards the end of the year where I help out a select few of eighth graders through my high-school and I guess that’s better than nothing. I might join the newspaper or video club too. I’m just checking out my chances if I don’t join any clubs.</p>
<p>BTW, I was in the track team last year and KEY club freshman year but I wasn’t very involved so I try to ignore them.</p>

<p>I hate school clubs. The only school-affiliated EC I do is soccer, which isn’t a club, it’s a sport. I always felt like my school didn’t offer what I was really interested in, plus I felt that the kids in clubs just always joined everything to boost their college chances. I think if you keep staying involved outside of school, it shouldn’t matter.</p>
