what's going to happen?

Doesn't it go by pacific time 12:00

I submitted 12:10 EST b/c it wouldn't accept the payment! I really hope it's pacific time.

I did the same thing. I really hope the school accepts it.

i am praying
but it allowed me to submit so i think i'm fine
but god knows

ughhhhhhh

it's eastern time...I submit everything at 12:30 eastern time ! :( [ I'm from CA ]
I read the instructions and they say once the deadline has passed, you cannot submit your application anymore.
So if the system let you submit it, i guess Yale will accept it...:) [HOPE SO]

No, as per CommonApp FAQ, all times are Eastern Standard Time.

However, luckily enough, Yale's website says explicitly:

The postmark deadline for paper applications is December 31st. We will keep the online application Web site open through January 3rd, so that students who may have technical problems submitting their application are able to resolve the problem and still have time to submit their application. Please note that if you experience technical diffficulties with the online Common Application or Yale Supplement, you should contact the Common Application Help Desk directly by using the Help link on the Common Application Web site. The Help Desk is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Undergraduate Admissions Office will be closed from December 22nd through January 1st.

Regular Decision Application Deadline | News | Office of Undergraduate Admissions

That link is wrong. The office is closed from 24th through 1st, not 22nd through 1st

That link has been debated elsewhere. If you go to the link and go to it's upper levels, you will see that the year associated is 2007.

You can not find this link on the Yale website. People are only finding it when the google on the net.

^ WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANT FROM THEM! Just accept what they post on their website as real... MIT recently extended their deadline as well.

Why would anyone ever do this to sabotage someone?

(in reference to post below :()

eating food - I did not say that anyone is doing anything to sabatage someone

If you go to the Yale site, you can not find an extended deadline.

If you take that link, and take off the last part of the URL, you get admissions in 2007.

I would hate to see an applicant count on the info in that link since best I can tell it is not current.

Eating food - please go to the site and find the extended date there and provide the direction to finding. When you say "just accepted what is posted on the site", I don;t believe that it is.

Hmmm, the site doesn't really say anything...(to the bottom poster)

Why are there all these threads about apps submitted late by a few hours or minutes? Why do you all do this to yourselves, does it provide some sort of high or thrill?

As a side note, it is funny to see the order of these last posts.
the order should be
verbal's at 7:47am
then smoda61 2:09pm
then eating food's 8:16 am
then my 3:12 PM
then svnna91's 11:39 amd

my earlier posts were in the morning in massachusetts
I am now in Maine. It is 4:08 pm. I am curious to see how this post turns out
