Hey guys, I decided to drop my chem class last week which now puts me at 12 credits which is the minimum to be fully enrolled. Do you think it's a bad idea to only have 12 first semester?

nope. It's fine. Remember that when you're signing up for classes though. You should always take more and then you can drop one for whatever reason. If you were only taking 14, you couldn't drop the class b/c it would put you under the minimum requirement. There's definitely nothing wrong with taking 12 though.

I originally started with 12 credits but dropped a class so I'm only taking 9 this semester

are you living on campus? Are you on financial aid? if so than being less that fully enrolled could possibly ***** those things up.

12 is technically fine, but it could delay your graduation a semester...
really, it's more a thing of what works for you personally.
I felt lazy my first semester with 16 (but like 29 hours of class), but for someone else that could be too much! (And, to be honest, I would LOVE to only have 16 units again!)
