12 Days Left: How to Prepare

So this summer has been ridiculously busy for me. College tours, fundraisers, and soccer have essentially relieved me of any homework or ACT preparation. However, with 12 days left, I feel as if I need to polish what I already know.

I've taken the ACT twice and disappointed myself both times. A 27 rounded out my first score before I improved to a 29. Those scores, in my opinion, aren't good enough and don't accurately depict my capabilities.

So my question is how I should study for this September test. How many practice tests per day should I take? What should I focus on while taking them?

Opinions are welcome!

what’s your target score?

More practice tests!!!

I agree with neuroscience… Practice practice practice!!

Do some TIMED practice tests, but not the day before.

Also, don’t give up when you get frustrated with practice tests. Often times, your score will not improve(25,26,27…etc) instantly. One practice test you may get a 30, the next you jump back to the 20s.

My target score is 31. I feel as if I can improve by two points, as I scored a 25 on the reading section after I focused too hard on one section in the June test. If I can raise that score by 4 points to a 29, I would have had a 31.

So I guess I just need to polish things up and get back into the test taking mode.

Do practice tests. Space them out though. Do the sections that you tend to do the worst on first. Then, do the ones that you are good at as more of a confidence booster after. I know many people may not agree with this way, but it will get your confidence up for the real ACT in a few days. Confidence can get you a long way on these tests.

one practice test each day!
