I'm choosing a laptop for college and am debating whether to get the 15" Powerbook or the 12" Powerbook.

Basically my main problem is I'm whether the extra weight is worth the extra power and more importantly, the extra resolution.

Personally, I can't stand a screen with a resolution of under 1280 wide. For the reason alone, I could never see myself using a 12 inch Powerbook or any size iBook.

Check the resolution that you currently have set on your monitor. If it is 1024 x 768, then the 12 inch model will be similar to what you are using right now. But if it is set at 1280 x 1024, you'll find that somethings do not fit well on the screen of a 12 inch Powerbook.

I have a 15'' Powerbook, and for me, it is worth the extra weight... because I barely feel it. I have friends that have the 12'' and adore it for being so compact and easy to fit in cute bags. The only time where I may think having a 12'' Powerbook could be easier is when I take notes on it during lecture classes-- my 15'' is too large for a tiny lecture desk, and more cumbersome than a 12'' for my lap. It's really no big deal, though.

The power isn't a huge issue for me and what I need my laptop for. I'm sure with what I use my Powerbook, I could easily manage with the power from a 12'', but I was more concerned with the screen size and the resolution when choosing my laptop.
