12 Percent Decrease in EA

From Bloomberg.com, <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=areIr4adEZdQ&refer=us%5B/url%5D">http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=areIr4adEZdQ&refer=us</a></p>

Stanford University outside Palo Alto, California, accepted 16 percent of the 4,644 students who applied through its early admissions program this year, according to figures released today. The school made offers to 12 percent fewer students compared with last year under a new committee-based decision process, in which a group of admissions officers reviews every application.

Stanford tied for fourth place in U.S. News and World Report's 2007 college rankings with California Institute of Technology in Pasadena and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. Princeton was ranked first, followed by Harvard in second place and Yale in third.

uh yeah pretty much. our school used to send about 15ish, with total of 21-22, this year, 8 early. (last year, 6?? early, 11 total... they switched panels just last year...this is the 2nd year with new panel)
i feel jipped
(i go to school next to stanford, usually they treat us a bit better...lol so i guess technically i can't complain too much)

My school used to have around 8 people accepted EA every year until the officer for our area was changed. Last year we had 3 and this year we have NONE! Seriously, this scares me...since I'm applying RD.

What's your school? Harker?

i think one kid from harker got in this year. not sure...

mine? gunn. we had about 10-11 get in this year. minus me got deferred. so i basically suck. hahaha

Mission San Jose had 5 get in, about 5 more get deferred.
