12-point GPA scale

<p>Will having a gpa on a 12 point scale (which cannot be directly turned into a 4point scale) force colleges to look at the whole application rather than just use a formula with the gpa as part of the progress? How will it affect how a college sees an application?</p>

<p>On a side note, do you know the reason for my school basing its GPA on a 12point scale?</p>

<p>yea, we have A+ is a 12, A is an 11, A- is a 10, so on so forth</p>

<p>I was just wondering if there was a reason a school like mine would use this scale when all other schools around use a 4.0 scale</p>
