I'm in 11th grade now and I am just deciding the classes I might take next year. I have a few versions I would like you guys to look at. Which ones are the most rigorous to schools in the ivy/jhu direction. Thanks!

Version A:
AP Calc BC
AP European History
AP French Lang.
AP Physics 2
AP Literature
AP Govn't/ ap Microecon (half year courses take both exams)
Wind Ensemble Honors

Version B:
AP Calc BC
AP European History
AP French Lang.
AP Biology
AP Comp. Politics/Dual Enrollment Eng Comp 2
AP Govn't/ ap Microecon
Wind Ensemble Honors

Thanks for the response @MrMom62 . I’m just a little scared to to pick B because I’m taking ap physics 1 this year. I prefer ver. B because i like biology and hate physics with a burning passion, but i don’t want universities to think I’m giving up on it. Would they think this if i chose ap bio?

No, not any more than they’d think that someone who to AP Lang should automatically take AP Lit. It’s not like you dropped science completely, you just shifted to another subject.

I think you need to also find a way to drop down to possibly only 4 APs. With college apps, that schedule is simply too much for most mortals. I’d suggest dropping AP Euro and dropping down to the non-AP next level of French, if available. At the very least, get down to 5 APs by getting rid of one of the social studies APs.

I agree - I would not recommend taking more than 4 APs your senior year, 5 at the maximum. First, I would choose between english and history – whichever you like more take the AP in and the other, non-AP. In terms of science – AP Physics vs Bio. I have had a child take each - and Bio was more homework/labs than Physics. Physics was about an hour a day of homework and similar on weekend whereas Bio was at least an hour on the school nights but then often 4-5 hours on the weekends. In addition, the standard AP Bio class can not begin to cover the majority of what is on the test so you have to be prepared to do outside work. That being said, if you think you can perform better in Bio (which relies more on reading than the natural mathematical ability and analysis in physics), then do NOT take AP Euro History – because you would be taking two heavy reading classes…
