Hello,
I received my scores from the October SAT and I received a 1250/1600. I scored a 570 on EBRW and 680 on Math. I was just wondering, is this a good score for UC schools and some other top-tier schools in the nation? I’m going to be applying to UCLA, UCB, UCI, UCD, and UCSB. I’m also going to be applying to schools in the east coast such as NYU, William & Mary, U of Virginia, and some others. Please reply ASAP.
Thanks!!
GPA is the most important factor for getting into UCs.
In regard to “top-tier schools,” look up freshman class profiles of the schools you are interested in. If your SAT falls into the top 50%, your SAT won’t negatively affect you.
a bit low, especially for ucla/ucb
SAT scores aren’t the only factor, but the average is higher for UCs and etc. For example, UCLA’s average is 1370. Though for colleges, it’s best to apply to or aim for a college with your score in the 75th percentile. For UCLA, that’s 1500.
