1300 SAT (old) Vs. 28 ACT

1300 SAT (old) Vs. 28 ACT

Can someone please tell me if a 28 ACT is a better score than a 1300 SAT?
We are just looking to save a buck by not sending the new ACT score if it not a improvement or just sending the ACT if it is better.

28 on the ACT is a bit higher than 1300 on the SAT, but not by much. As to which score you should send, i am not very sure.

<a href="http://www.spartanburg6.k12.sc.us/dhs/Guidance%20website/SAT-ACT%20Conversion%20chart.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.spartanburg6.k12.sc.us/dhs/Guidance%20website/SAT-ACT%20Conversion%20chart.html</a></p>

Based on this website's conversion chart, a 28 ACT is the equivalent of between 1240-1270 on the old SAT and an 1860 on the New SAT. Given this information, her SAT is better.

I've seen other websites that have conversion tables, but this is the only one I've found that includes the New SAT.

umm i think i made a mistake, sorry guys

Thank you so very much !

My daughter took both the ACT and the SAT- also did better on the SAT, to our surprise. So we haven't submitted any of the ACT results from the 3(!!) times she took it. She took the SAT once, and did better right away. The science really brought her composite down.

soloboe--I've also seen conversion charts that put a 28 in the 1300 range. Which one to believe? Also, what about the ACT writing score? If that comes in high, that certainly helps the overall profile.

No info on the new SAT, but the College Board's website has a conversion chart (from 2000, so it may be a bit dated) that converts a 28 ACT to a 1260. The same chart converts a 1300 SAT to a 29. So looks like the SAT score is better.
