131 test talk

what'd you think?

pretty fair. not too hard, not too easy. i know i missed two or three already though...i only super studied last night. third year here and still doing the same thing i was in my first year. damn

I got 4 wrong. Possibly 5…there was one question that was weird…the one about chondrocytes in perichondrium being either interstitial or appositional growth. Interstitial is chondrocytes in the cartilage, whereas appositional is chondroblasts in the perichondrium. I emailed him about that question, but he hasn’t gotten back to me yet.

is this class going to be graded on a curve? i really hope so

i don’t think i got any of the chapter 7 test right… didnt spend much time on it… rather difficult.

Follow up: Professor Carlson says that “question was poorly worded and will be tossed”.

cool. i put appositional for that one iirc, but doesn’t matter now. it seemed to me like he was trying to say what the word was for when stuff forms from the outside

It sucks that he’s throwing it out though. If he had worded it correctly I would’ve gotten it right. He should either make it a freebie, or make either appositional or interstitial correct answers.

yeah i agree. Throwing out a question when there’s only 50 of them is not helpful

will he grade on a curve?

watsup with diamond teaching this part of the course? there are no slides posted on bspace!!!

woot diamond! 6 lectures of diamond

why are you so happy its diamond? there are no slides posted so that means we have to go to class

Diamond is an engaging and funny lecturer. It is worth it to go to class.

Besides, we’re paying all this money to get an education…just go to class already. I can never understand why anyone wouldn’t.

No I would understand if you skip Carlson. So many powerpoint slides…his side stories are interesting but there’s so. many. slides. But waste of money if you go or if you don’t

please, does anyone know if this guy curves the class or are the grades based on like >93 is an A etc?

grades posted.

a little lower than what i wanted, but higher than i expected if that makes sense. haha

wow i like how no one answers my question

how are the people in this class supposed to know if you don’t know? he hasn’t mentioned anything about it

okay well i guess now we all know
pretty harsh curving in my opinoin

Not really… it’s curved to a B average.

it’s not too bad. a 73% as still a B is pretty good. unless you failed I guess.
