Shooting for
MIT ( super reach most likely rejected)
Rice
Ga Tech- (ONLY look at MAth and Eng: M-35 Eng- 27)
UT-austin

I got a few other safties in my back pocket: LSU and RPI.

Any suggestions and/or advice about chances or potential choices.

You look great...work on that SAT! 700+ is competitive according to MIT so you're close.

Good GPA obviously, but I think you will need a higher SAT or ACT for MIT. Averages at MIT were 730/760 last year--so as a URM you will probably still need about 710/730=1440/1600 or around 2160+/2400. A lot depends on your essays, of course.

I think you're good for Georgia Tech, LSU and RPI, Rice is about 50-50 and as an out-of -state for Texas I think you're only around 40-60, but better than 50-50 if you get those scores up to 1400 from the current 1320.

Good luck.

P.S. LSU would have won the NCAA championship in track and field next year if Xavier Carter had stuck around, but now that he's going pro, I don't know how good LSU will be.

yeah but he deserved to go pro, the guy was a beast. saw him run a 45 400 and it looked like nothing. They have good depth though they'll be alright

try johns hopkins for biomedical engineering. according to us news and world report latest 2007 rankings, it is the #1 undergrad college.
