so i studied really hard and took my sats 3 times and out of all of them i still only get a best 1350 score for all of them and i feel pathetic. seeing as how i studied and still did badly. i knwo it doesnt matter but i cant seem to not care. is a 1350 bad honestly?

Oh, please. Hardly a failure. Take a look at the Case Western board and see how many kids are getting large merit awards with your pathetic scores.

Fortunately, most schools care much more about grades and other qualities in an applicant.

1350 is the 93rd percentile! That means you did better than 93 of every 100 kids who took the SAT. That's definitely nothing to be ashamed of.

only on cc would you feel this way, a 1350 is a score to commended!

1350 isn't pathetic, it's an admirable score to most peole, but I understand how you feel, it happened to me the first time...I think I was too confident

o jeez dude! don't feel bad AT all about a 1350.. that's actually very good!
this post sums up my feelings exactly:

wow you're just like me. I took it three times and ended up with a 1350 too.

wow, be ashamed, you should hang yourself, how can you live with a 1350?
^^Sarcasm
what is wrong with you, 1350 is a kick-*** score. congradulations

i know this is an ultra-competitive forum. But hey 1350 is a good score. There are a bunch of guys who just want a 1300. Be proud.

even tho, u will see here ppl with those 1500+, sat is not the end, i know ppl with 1200+ who hve had bttr prospects than 1600...really... focus on ur ecs and other academics... gd luck

just think of it this way... forevery 1500+ your competing with... there's tons of people that score in the 1000s and below... besides 1350 is still competitive for most schools!

i took it 3 times and got 1350 on the third time.

I was accepted ED by Duke, engineering school too!

Who cares about the SATs...!

thanks for the moral support guys, i feel a lot better now

i'd like to say to all you high school juniors who haven't gone through the college process., people will tell you that your scores are great compared to the rest of the country. while this is true, i have to tell you that the harsh reality is that your score will either make or break you for scholarship purposes.

to get into a school is one story, but to qualify and get huge college scholarships is another story. what's the point of getting accepted when you can't afford the college and u endup with a total loan of 40,000 dollars? nothing.

that said, i recommend all of you get at least 1400 or whatever the equivalent is on the new sats.

i was optimistic a year ago, but unless you're really rich or really poor, you'er going to have to stand out (SAT/ACT wise), otherwise you're going to get screwed big time.

well... overcome the first hurdle of getting in... then worry about the financial aspects

everything has to be planned in advance. you don't realize these things until u finally realize it and u can't do anything about it.

i'm just warning u

You failed the SAT??? Thats not good news kid. You're now basically out of the running for all the Ivies and even some of the top state schools. Are there any good community colleges in your are where you can attend?

There's plenty of good colleges that's between the Ivies and a community college.

As for the scholarship purposes, not all scholarships are dependant on SAT scores. Just because you don't stand out in the 'money factor' doesn't mean you must stand out SAT/ACT wise. Colleges award scholarships for different things. Check out your prospective college sites for what they award and what you need to meet the basic requirements. I received one where I was below the minimal SAT, but I guess I had other factors that helped.

Your SAT score is not the sole factor of deciding your success/failure. If you did your best, you did your best and now you should focus on the other important aspects of college admissions.

How coincidental! I got 1350 too... difference is i got it on the 4th try.

Did you guys do well on your SATII's?

i just thought of something funny, a lot of the sat success can be upped by money into classes and books, and yet scholarships, the thing that sats go toward the most, give out money depending on your score on it. or something
