Yes, yes, I realize the GPA/Class Rank is really bad. Didn't do so hot in school Soph. and Junior years. Freshman and Senior grades are pretty good though. I took somewhat hard courses (6 or so Honors, 3 APs). Honors aren't weighted.

My Essay should be very good, and have 2 recommendations, one which is probably REALLY good and another that is probably good but not excellent.

My Extracurriculars are decent. Good work experience, not many awards but a solid few activities that I showed I was good at.

I'm applying to the film schools at those colleges, for the ones that have film. My portfolio isn't fantastic, but the pieces I'm sending are pretty good.

The Shools I have applied to/are applying to are:

Emerson College
Ithaca College
Purdue
Penn State
Loyola Marymount University
Chapman

I already got accepted to a pretty good school so I'm not worried about the whole safety/fallback business.

Can someone tell me my chances (match, reach, etc.)? Is the GPA gonna ruin me like I think it will?

yay. What about Bard? Sarah Lawrence? Do I even have the least bit of a shot at NYU (Tisch)? Maybe if I aced my SAT II's (700+ on all 3)? Would it be too late to take them in January? Holla back.

I gave my Purdue application to my counselor like 6 weeks ago...haven't heard from them. I'm starting to worry that she might not have sent it out.

don't know, I got a response back in like 4-5 weeks. try calling Purdue and seeing if everything was in, that's what I did about a week and a half ago and I just got accepted last friday. Don't sweat.

aldimeola,
definately contact all your colleges and verify that the materials are in. If NYU will accept the January SAT II's, and you believe in your portfolio, may as well give it a shot.

i think you should have a shot at NYU, I was reading the posts for ED NYU people with your same GPA and mid 1200s got in, in the regular pool you have a high SAT, take the SAT IIs and you should be fine.

Which really good school did you get accepted to already? Maybe if it's really good you don't need to waste money and apply to more and more schools (Emerson, Ithaca, etc.) since it costs on avg $50 per app.
