Tulane University #51, National Universities, USNWR’s rankings, the rankings being the Bible for Informative. So therefore, let us conclude that Tulane is a very highly ranked National University & is not “regional.” Why continually bash Tulane?

For NYU, the ED applicants numbers are included in the total applicant number of 42,242. It looks like the applicant # ranking (for privates) this year will be Tulane>Northeastern>NYU>Boston University. I couldn’t find a figure for USC.

Tulane-12.8% yield. They better get lots of apps.

Tulane is a good school but the free application email Tulane sends out may be a cause for its disproportionately high number of applicants: [Tulane sees record number ofapplications - thehullabaloo.com](thehullabaloo.com)

I am so upset about this as I have an LD son who wants NE so badly but his chances are slim, as even though he has a high GPA, he has low SAT’s and no AP classes… The number of slots are so limitied now.

Tulane reports at 13.36% DECREASE in applications according to the New York Times.

So Northeastern is #1 for applications among private universities.

Does anyone know what Northeastern’s retention rate is?

For the freshman class of 2009, 93.1% returned for sophomore year in 2010. For comparison, Boston University had a freshman retention rate of 90%.
