15 minute interview... bad???

My MIT and Harvard interviewers really prodded at me and asked some hard questions to get a picture of who i really was. My Pton interviewer, however, didn't seem to really care. Not much was talked about in the interview that wasnt on my app. Since i know the interview doesn't count for much, i wasnt really intent on telling everything about myself, but it was still a really crappy interview compared to H and MIT.

my pton interviewer did the same thing: asked me why college and why princeton. then he said that he would answer any questions i had. we ended up talking for almost an hour but he kept saying over and over again "this interview is just a formality and doesn't really count towards admission"

yeah my princeton interview was something of a disaster as well. the guy just wasn't interested at all....

thanks for replies guys... is the interview REALLY so meaningless, because I am somewhat considering asking for another one. I don't think it could hurt, could it? Does anyone think that it would be a waste of time? Would it be worth doing it just to show some "extra" interest? Thanks.

there's no need...and there's always the chance that your second interview is equally short/bad or even worse.

yea true haosquared... wouldnt that be funny if those ppl above had the same guy u did blarney stone? lol you should ask em what their interviewers name was

geez your interview was pretty short... although my interviewer was in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SUBJECT (Physics... i wanna major in Political SciencE), we somehow managed to integrate our conversation to cover poli sci and physics... and it lasted two hours.

MIne was 15 minutes too, it sounds exactly the same as yours. Maybe princeton just doesn't care about interviews too much.

so is there anyone who thinks that asking for another one could increase my chances at all? i don't really need any more information about the school, i've done enough research... but would the extra interest influence their decision?

I looked at the common data set for Princeton and it said that interviews were only "considered" not "very important" or even "important" factors in gaining admission. So I wouldn't worry at all.
