Truthfully, I think it’s just that medical students are forced to do everything as a large group, such that the 25% or whatever of difficult kids really cause a lot of problems.

This thread is incredibly helpful. I am ready to forward on to my DS.
Thanks NCG for taking the time from your busy schedule to post this.

Good luck with MSY3 and 4.

I think it’s important to clarify what I mean.

Everyone, for the most part, is friendly. There are very few gunners at my school. Most people get along just fine, say “hi” on the streets, stop to chat for a bit. However, in a class of 120-170, it’s just natural that everyone will form a group of 5-10 other people with whom they’ll hang out. That’s what I mean by “cliques.” In college, you may hang out with many more people mainly because there are 1000-10,000 people in your graduating class. With med school, your social options are limited because there are less people in your graduating class and you don’t have much time to make friends outside of school. But, it’s not like anyone will refuse to work or talk with you just because you aren’t in their close group of friends.

Great post. :P

I want to go pre-med and hopefully go to med school. Nice post.

LOL at the PS3 (at least it doesn’t cost as much as the equipment)
